Pirates Avenge Lone Loss In Region 16 Tournament Semifinal

North Central Missouri College avenged their lone regular season defeat in the semifinal round of the Region 16 tournament by downing St. Louis CC.  They put together a well-rounded performance to secure a 76-60 victory and advance to the championship game. The Pirates were led by a strong showing from Tyler King, who was a force from beyond the arc, knocking down five three-pointers on his way to a game-high 22 points. King also contributed on the defensive end with five steals, helping to disrupt the Archers' offensive flow.

 

Camden Bennett provided a steady offensive presence, finishing with 15 points on 4-of-11 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers, and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Joe Clark added 11 points while facilitating the offense with four assists. His ability to take care of the ball was key, committing just one turnover in 31 minutes.

 

Giovanni Mack showcased his versatility, filling the stat sheet with 10 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, playing a crucial role in both playmaking and rebounding. Jon Carroll was a presence inside, securing nine rebounds while making his way to the free-throw line frequently, where he converted seven of his 15 attempts. Off the bench, Mikey Thomas provided a spark in limited minutes, draining a three-pointer and scoring five points in just 11 minutes of action.

 

The Pirates' defense was relentless, forcing 17 turnovers and coming away with nine steals. They also held St. Louis to just 37% shooting from the field and 30% from three-point range. Their ability to get to the free-throw line and convert 24 of 36 attempts played a significant role in maintaining their lead throughout the game.

 

North Central Missouri College's efficiency from deep and their balanced offensive attack proved too much for St. Louis Community College, securing another solid victory as they continue their strong season.
