In their final doubleheader of spring training, the Cyclones dropped two games to Delgado Community College.
GAME ONE
A few Cyclones had hits, but it wasn't until the top of the third when they scored. Andrew Phelan (1-for-3) was hit by a pitch, advanced a base from a balk and stole third. Timothy O'Connell grounded out but was able to score Phelan. Delgado retook the lead in their next at-bats before Moraine Valley scored again in the sixth. Caston Norris (1-for-2) walked before stealing second and getting to third on a balk. He scored on a single from Robert Kutt (2-for-2). That would be the last time a Cyclone crossed the plate in the 5-2 loss.
GAME TWO
Despite an attempted comeback in the ninth inning, the Cyclones came up just short in a 13-9 loss to Delgado.
Once Delgado got on the board, some of which was due to Cyclones errors, it was work for Moraine Valley to get back within striking distance. The Cyclones first scored after Preston Lund (2-for-3) tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Down 6-1 in the third, Lucas Hicks (1-for-4) doubled in Phelan (1-for-4) who also doubled and got to third on a single from O'Connell (1-for-1).
The Cyclones gained a little more ground in the fifth after being down 11-2. Lund singled, Jayden Armstrong was hit by a pitch and Christian Rosales (1-for-3) singled to load the bases. John Labonte (1-for-2) knocked in two runs on a double on the line to right field. Rosales scored after Phelan popped into a fielder's choice, getting the Cyclones within six runs.
Delgado earned their final runs in the sixth before the Cyclones had a four-run inning in their final at-bat. With Troy Vosburgh on from a walk and Aaron Portillo-Carias reaching base on an error, Nicholas Haran (1-for-1) hit an RBI double. Kutt and Jaylun Camper (1-for-1) each knocked in consecutive runs from singles. Hicks got the final run across the plate on a sac fly, but it wasn't enough to overcome Delgado.
