
The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Metropolitan Community College Wolves as they won game one 3-1 and game two 11-3. With those results, head coach, Lana Ross, got her 200th win as the Blue Devil leader. Ross led her 2021-22 season to a District Championship while receiving the 2021-22 District Coach of the Year award.
In the first game, Kloey Dawes recorded two hits in her first game back from injury. Dawes also scored two of the three Blue Devil runs. Ashton Russell went 1-3 from the plate and knocked in one RBI. The other RBIs came from Sydney Becker and Lilea Prahm. Both Prahm and Russell recorded a double boosting KCKCC to a 3-1 win.
Alyssa Droge went the distance while allowing one run from the five Wolves hits. She struck out six of the 31 batters she faced and gave up one walk.
In game two, the Blue Devils unleashed 11 runs from 12 hits. There were five Blue Devils who had multi-hit games. Prahm stood out while bringing in a team-high three RBIs as she went 2-3 from the plate. Sidney Sullivan had two hits, both going over the fence. That is her first collegiate multi-home run game. Sydney Becker bat cleanup and knocked her second home run of the season as she went 2-3 from the plate.
Hanna Acree threw for the first three innings while letting in two runs from four hits. Kinlei Boley entered the game in the fourth inning and let up one run from one hit as she struck out two of the eight baters she faced.
