Florence-Darlington Technical College suffered a 7-3 loss to Madison College on Saturday in a closely contested game at the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic. Despite a strong performance from Larissa Siders, who recorded two hits and one RBI, the Stingers struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, leaving several runners on base.
The Stingers managed six hits, with Siders scoring one of the team's three runs. However, a costly error and Madison College's timely offensive plays, including a four-run sixth inning, ultimately led to FDTC's defeat. Pitcher Mackenzie Kubas went the distance, completing all seven innings and allowing nine hits and seven runs, five of which were earned. Despite striking out six batters and issuing no walks, Kubas couldn't contain Madison's key moments.
Other notable performances came from Grayce Rhyne and Madison Rainwater, who each contributed a hit and a run, but the Stingers fell short as Madison College's offense proved more effective.
