Bucks Get Series Win over ASU Three Rivers

(February 2, 2025) Malvern, Arkansas - Coming off a split on Saturday at Union Bank Field, the Bucks traveled 2 hours east to conclude the series with ASU Three Rivers. 

Game One

The Bucks wanted to keep momentum going after an 11-1 win in Game Two yesterday, but the men found themselves in a 3-1 hole after an inning of play. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) got his first college hit on a RBI double to right field to score the Bucks run in the top half of the inning. Starting pitcher Camden Farmer (Paragould, AR) had a rough first inning, but he settled in as the game went on.

The Bucks plated a pair of runs in the top of the third inning to tie the contest at 3-3. Landen Feimster (Sheridan, AR) plated a pair on a hit and an error by the ASUTR leftfielder in the inning. The Bucks and Eagles would both go scoreless in the fourth. Then, the Bucks put a crooked number on the board in the fifth inning. After a pair of singles, Ethan Miller added to his RBI total for the day with a single. Then, Feimster did the same thing on a 2-RBI single to left field. After a passed ball moved the runner into scoring position, Layne Sweat (Darby, KS) grounded out to the middle infield to make it a 7-3 ball game.

Farmer continued in the fifth and sixth innings, holding the Eagles offense at bay. Then, the Bucks added a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning. After a pair of walks and an out, Shelby Anders (Baton Rouge, LA) came through with a RBI single. After a hit-by-pitch, Diego Archila (Baton Rouge, LA) hit a RBI double to end the scoring for the Bucks in the game.

Corbin Miller (Sprio, OK) came on to pitch the bottom of the seventh. He would give up a pair of runs, but he got a ground ball to end the game. Bucks win 9-5.

Camden Farmer (1-1) evened his season record on the mound with 6.0 innings of work. The right-hander gave up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4 in the outing. 

 

 

Game Two

The Bucks got off to a hot start in the final game of the series with a crooked number in the top of the first inning. After a walk, an out, and a single, the Bucks scored on a pair of wild pitches before Landen Feimster hit a sac fly to left centerfield to plate the third run to make it 3-0 for starting pitcher Logan Steele (Magnolia, TX). He freshmen gave up a run in the bottom half, but he stranded the bases loaded to give the Bucks a 3-1 after an inning.

After a scoreless second inning, the Bucks converted in the top of the third with the bases loaded. Jesse Sanchez (Kissimmee, FL) hit a 3-RBI double to left centerfield to make it 6-1. Steele worked a 1,2,3 bottom half to take the lead into the fourth.

The Bucks offense once again came alive in the top of the fourth. The Bucks scored 8 runs that was highlighted by an Ian Smith (Bismarck, AR) 2-run home run, his third of the season. Four Bucks picked up a RBI in the inning: Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR), Diego Archila (2) , Jack Bilski (La Porte, TX), and Shelby Anders. The Bucks held to a 14-1 lead for Steele, as he worked a scoreless bottom of the fourth.

Jax Butigan (Atoka, TN) came on for the Bucks and pitched the final inning.

Logan Steele (1-0) got the win in 4.0 innings of work. He would give up 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 3. 

The Bucks will have the week off before travelling to Millington, TN for the Saluqi Invitational. The men will play a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday at the USA Baseball Stadium Complex.
