The Daytona State College men's basketball team, ranked #25 in the nation, defeated #12 Chipola College 65-60 to secure their seventh consecutive win and improve their record to 9-2 on the season. Chipola falls to 9-3.  

In a bruising defensive battle between two of the top teams in the nation, Daytona led by only 8 points in the second half and was able to hang on to secure the win in the closing moments.

Daytona's defense forced 19 Chipola turnovers and held them to just 19% (4-21) shooting from three point range.  

The Daytona offense converted on 12 of 21 three point attempts in the game. They finished with 16 assists on a total of 21 made field goals.

Eddie Placer led Daytona with 15 points and 6 assists. Isaiah Dorceus contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Dylan Diaz added 12 points on 4-5 made field goals from 3 point range. Jaylin Payne 8 points and 6 rebounds. Ryan Bewley 4 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
