
FULTON, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over Pellissippi State on Friday in four sets (25-19; 23-25; 25-16; 25-16).
After the Indians took the opening set, 25-19, the Panthers evened the match when they took a 25-23 win in the second. ICC then rallied to take the third and fourth sets by a score of 25-16 to secure the victory.
Bree Lyons (Oxford) and Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) tied for a team-best 11 kills while Michael Ann East (Oxford) added nine, and Allie Grace Kirkland (Corinth) and Kendall Finimore (Lewisburg), five each. On the serve, Lyons led the Indians with 16 digs, Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.), who also recorded a team-best 21 assists, added 15 and Kensley Woolbright (New Hope), 14.
The Indians will face Henderson State's junior varsity team at 6 p.m. in the Davis Event Center for their second match of the day.
