Northeast (6-5) had their offense come alive in the first matchup of the day as their 18 runs were the most that they have scored so far this season. Oakland Flodell (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), Carter Noakes (Dannebrog, Neb.) and Trenton Barry (Wahoo, Neb.) all blasted homers and the pitching staff did their job to cruise to a resounding victory.
Game 2 was a much tighter affair but two drawn walks by the Hawks in the seventh inning were enough to secure the series triumph for Northeast. Hayden Parrish (Omaha, Neb.) had four hits including a home run and a double while Max Coughlin (Omaha, Neb.) came in and shut the door on the Grizzlies to pick up the save in the seventh. The Hawks will head to McCook, Nebraska on Friday before hosting their home opener Sunday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk.

"We were very aggressive offensively and that was good to see," Clapp said. "The guys kept battling all day and it was everyone 1-9. We still have to clean up the free bases and quit putting ourselves in tough situations on the mound."
Clapp on riding this momentum into Friday against McCook:
"I think winning the series and winning a close game will put us in a good mindset heading into the weekend," Clapp said.
