Jayhawks Lose in Non-Conference Battle at CCBC Titans

MONACA, PA - Jamestown Community College's (JCC) men's basketball team traveled south for a non-conference showdown with Community College of Beaver County Friday night, and it was another tough loss for the Jayhawks, falling 83-76.

This game was tight throughout the 40 minutes.

CCBC built a 10-point lead in the middle of the first half before a Jamestown run was capped by a Federico Foddai three, and Robert Russel's penetration and bucket gave Jamestown the 23-21 advantage.

The duo was near the top of the Jayhawks' score, with Foddai leading the way at 19 and Russel adding 12.

The game went to the break tied at 21-21.

Jamestown saw a double-digit deficit hit them 10 minutes into the second half.

The boys in black kept fighting thanks to 18 points from freshman Marcus Wynter and ten added by sophomore Xavier Dockery.

Even with the scoring, JCC was down 11 late.

The Jayhawks went into foul mode and gave themselves a chance, cutting the Titans' lead to just seven, but some unforced errors late stopped the rally with Jamestown losing by seven.

The loss brings JCC's overall record to 4-19.

They have a few days off before they enter back into league play with a home visit from Monroe Community College on Wednesday, February 5th, at 7:30 PM.
