Lady Jayhawks Run Away with Win
The Jayhawks defeated Madonna JV handily 99-63
The MCC women's basketball team hosted Madonna University's JV women's basketball team Tuesday evening.
The Lady Jayhawks were off to a slow start in the first quarter. But, the last five minutes of the first half truly showed how the Jayhawks can battle back despite a deficit. True leadership and a champion mindset can lead a team to victory no matter how far behind they are. Because of this, the Jayhawks had their best scoring game by far this season; ultimately beating Madonna 99-63.
Leading today's game was returning sophomore Arrionna Williams (#20) with 26 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Tyvi Davis (#23) with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Anna Lundquist (#30) with 14 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. And freshman Molli Schultz (#10) with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.
"Today, every player contributed something." said Head Coach Jason Cooper, "A great team effort tonight. I'm very proud of the team. Tyvi did an excellent job showing leadership getting everybody else started in the second half, so I'm proud of the win."
The Lady Jayhawks play at home Saturday, December 14th, vs GRCC at 1:00 p.m.
