
#2 Eagles Leave Creston With a Win
Creston, IA- The #2 Kirkwood Eagles traveled to Creston on Saturday to take on the Southwestern Spartans.
Lucas Lueth finished the important ICCAC game with a career-high 16 points which also was the game-high. Tate Petersen put up 14 points, and Colby Dolphin finished with 11 to conclude the double-digit category for the contest.
Rebounding for this game was the determining factor as Kirkwood edged the Spartans 35-22. The Eagles were +8 in offensive rebounding and finished with 13. James Spencer tied his career high in rebounds with 15 and grabbed his career high in offensive rebounds with 6.
The Eagles shot their season low from field goal range but took full advantage from the charity stripe cashing in on 30 of 39 attempts; whereas the Spartans only attempted 12 free throws. Tate Petersen goes a perfect 9-9 from the line making every trip count.
The Eagles are back on the road this Wednesday to face the Ellsworth Panthers at 7:30 pm.
