
BOONEVILLE, Miss. – Itawamba Community College dropped a pair of road conference games at No. 12 Northeast on Tuesday.
Game 1: Tigers 2, Indians 1
The Indians dropped a tough game one to the rival Tigers, 2-1.
Northeast opened the scoring in the first inning with an RBI double and added to their lead with a solo home run in the fifth.
The Indians got on the board in the sixth when Joryie McKnight scored on an error by the third baseman.
Alyssa Clifft was the pitcher of record for ICC, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out eight batters and walking four over six innings.
AB Marlar and Maddie Porter each collected a hit for the Indians.
Game 2: Tigers 7, Indians 1
The Indians fell victim to an early deficit against Northeast in a 7-1 loss in game two.
The Tigers struck first in the first inning with a three-run home run and used a 2 RBI double in the second to take a 5-0 lead. A solo home run for the Tigers in the fifth and an RBI ground out in the sixth made it a 7-0 advantage for Northeast.
ICC got on the board in the top of the seventh when Maddie McClendon stole home, but the Indians couldn't generate a late rally.
In the circle, Ella Lilly picked up four strikeouts and walked a batter while giving up seven runs over eight hits in five innings of work.
Houston Rea Grantham, Taylar Shands, Maddie Porter and Ella Duhon each collected a hit for the Indians.
