The Marian Ancilla Volleyball season came to a close Tuesday night, as they honored their Sophomores before the match. The Chargers hosted Kalamazoo Valley, falling 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-12).
Freshman Kaitlynn Kelderhouse (.412) led the Chargers in hitting, while fellow Freshman Layla Colcord (.400) had a strong game hitting and added 10 assists. Sophomore Brooke Schroeder made just one error in 30 serve-receive attempts, plus she added 7 digs as well.
"Being Sophomore Night, and the last game of the season, the ladies wanted to make sure they played as hard as possible. Even though we lost, I felt like the ladies played good volleyball. Our rallies were long-lasting, and we made Kalamazoo fight for a lot of their points," noted Charger Head Coach Heaven Donovan. "I am so proud of the effort our ladies gave this evening and am glad they went out on a good note. No heads were hanging due to this loss; the ladies gave their all and enjoyed doing so."
The Marian Ancilla Charger Community would like to give a special thanks to Katelyn Bryan, Alexis King, Kylee Saylor, Brooke Schroeder, and Sarah Tepp for their commitment to the Charger Volleyball program!! We wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors!!
