Jayhawks Win Vs Calvin JV

The MCC women's basketball team had a bounce back win after two on the road losses against the Calvin Knights women's basketball team on Tuesday night.

Taking place at home, the Lady Jayhawks were able to maintain a powerful offense and press within the first quarter to keep the Knights to just 5 points in the first quarter. Coming back from Thanksgiving break, the entire team had outstanding performance both offensively and defensively which led the Jayhawks to the win over the Knights 65-55.  

Top players of the game were TyVeonna Davis (#23) with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals. Anna Lundquist (#30) with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Jayna Edmonson with 12 points and 3 rebounds. Remi Sponseller with 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. 

Head coach Jason Cooper reflected on the game, post win: "We had a great win tonight. I am excited about how we came out defensively in the first half. We're getting better. They responded from our loss from last game, so I'm excited about our progress."

The Lady Jayhawks play on Saturday, December 7th, at home versus KVCC @1:00pm.
