
Harrisburg, PA – The Hawks Women's Volleyball team faced No. 1 seed Bergen Community College on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 in the Region 19/East District A Championship. The team cruised past the Bulldogs with a 3-0 sweep. The Hawks captured the victory and the Region 19/ East District A Championship title.
Zoe Velez was named Tournament MVP, while Lezlie Nguyen (HACC) and Angelina Buhler (Bergen) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Tom Frye of Harrisburg was named Coach of the Year.
Match 1: HACC 3, Bergen CC 0 - Final
The Hawks battled against the Bulldogs in all three sets for the lead. Both teams came out firing on all cylinders as the teams kept it close as the Hawks held a slight lead. The squad was able to gain momentum and would go on a nice run, cruising forward and capturing the win against Bergen; (25-21, 25-22, 25-13). Zoe Velez led the squad with 11 kills, while Lezlie Nguyen and Kelly Bastian followed both with 7 Kills and 1 Service Aces each. Kelly Bastian and Peyton Maass were both active with 17 Digs while Emily Myers and Zoe Velez both recorded 10 Digs. Zoe Velez had 3 Block Solos. Camryn Heth fed her team all night tallying 31 Assists.
The HACC Hawks Women's Volleyball team will now compete in the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa November 14-16, 2024.
