Auburn Hill, MI- Women's basketball kicks off the 2024-25 campaign this Friday as they make the trip up to Petoskey, MI to partake in The Timberwolves Classic.
After finishing last season in 4th place in the MCCAA Eastern Conference with an 11-14 record, the Owls look to improve upon last season's performance. With five returners on the roster, and welcoming in an additional six freshman, first year Head Coach Bob Belf believes they will be ready for the road ahead.
"I have been very impressed with this groups work ethic, effort, and acceptance right from the beginning as they're learning a new system of play. The entire team has shown an ability to score the ball and we are quickly developing a willingness to share the ball as well. The possibilities of this team come from the mental side, in them believing they can achieve more than they can envision now. I am looking forward to a fun season."
The Owls will play a total of two games in Petoskey this weekend. They'll face off against North Central Michigan on Friday at 5:30pm and against Gogebic Community College on Saturday at 11am.
The Owls first home contest will be on Tuesday, November 5th against Kellogg Community College.
