Lions Weather The Storm

The first half was a high scoring, back and forth affair. The Lions either led or tied for the first 7 minutes until the Hurricanes made two free throws to take an 18-16 lead. Xavier Barrow answered with a three and the Lions took a 19-18 lead right back. The Lions would finally pull away on a 9-0 run to go from down 3,31-28, to up 37-31. The Lions would head into halftime up 53-47. The star of the first half was Barrow who went 8-13, 3-5 from three, 5-5 from the line for a total of 24 points with 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.

The Lions came out of the break with their foot on the gas outsourcing the Hurricanes 17-4 to catapult them to a 70-51 lead with 15 minutes remaining in the contest. It took 10 minutes but the Hurricanes fought back to make it a 3 point game with under 6 minutes remaining 82-79 Lions lead. The Lions never lost the lead despite the Pesky Hurricanes fighting until the last minute. Lions win 102-90. 

Xavier Barrow finished with 37 points, 7 assists, 5 steals and 3 rebounds

Hussain Williams scored 20 points while leading the team with 7 rebounds

The combined 49 (30 & 19) from Louisburg's top two scores were out-done by Barrow's 37 and Hussain William's 20.

The Lions next game will be against Howard Community College Dragons on Monday November 25th in the Lion's Den with tip scheduled for 6:00pm.
