Bryant Stratton Buffalo Outlast Erie is Shootout
On a night when the Burt Flickinger Center was filled with energy both on and off the court, the Erie Community College men's basketball team came up just short of a victory over Bryant Stratton College Buffalo. The Kats fell to the Bobcats 95-91.
Erie came out firing to start the game and led for most for most of the first half, shooting an impressive 54.8% from the court and went to the break with a 44-40 lead. The Bobcats would return the favor to start the second grabbing their first lead of the game before the Kats settled in. Both teams would then keep the court moving, exchanging baskets before the Tribunes jumped out to a 13 point lead. Erie wold keep battling and would have a chance to tie the game in final seconds but a technical foul sent Monroe to line to seal the victory.
The Kats were led by Taesyn Slating who put up 22 points including five baskets from beyond the arc and was a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. David Stroud had 17 points and Eddie Beverly had 12 to round out the top three Kats for the night.
Erie will finish up regular season play on Saturday when SUNY Niagara visits the Flickinger Center for a 3:00 pm tip-off.
