Raiders Extend Streak to 14 with Two More Shutouts Over Snead State Friday

 

GAME ONE

A dominant second inning powered Northwest Florida State to a 9-0 shutout victory over Snead State on Friday. The Raiders exploded for six runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single from Haley Hughes, an RBI double by Sister Arnold, a groundout RBI from Karson McGowan, and a two-run single by Lulu Luedtke.

Northwest Florida extended its lead in the third inning when Arnold delivered another clutch two-run double, followed by an RBI groundout from McGowan.

Cailyn Heyl was stellar in the circle, earning the complete-game shutout. The right-hander allowed just two hits over five innings while striking out six and issuing no walks. Snead State's Victoria Mauterer took the loss, giving up seven hits and nine runs (five earned) over 2.1 innings.

At the plate, Arnold led the Raiders with a 2-for-3 performance, driving in three runs. Luedtke and Arnold each tallied two hits, while the team showed patience at the plate, drawing five walks. Defensively, the Raiders were flawless, committing no errors, with Arnold leading the way with seven chances.

Snead State managed just two hits, with Leah Swafford and Lexi Brewer each recording a single. The Parsons turned one double play and were error-free in the field, with Jayda Lacks leading with five defensive chances.

 

GAME TWO

A stellar pitching duel defined Game Two, but Northwest Florida State secured a 3-0 win behind the arm of Mallory Baker, who went the distance in a complete-game shutout.

The Raiders broke through in the fourth inning, sparked by a run-scoring double from Falyn Beebe and a two-run single by Hughes.

Baker was dominant, allowing just three hits over seven innings while striking out eight and not issuing a walk. Snead State's Josie Bunch took the loss despite a strong outing, allowing four hits and three unearned runs over 3.2 innings.

Beebe led the Raiders offensively with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, while Hughes added two RBIs. Northwest Florida continued its defensive excellence, playing error-free baseball with Sara Watson leading the team with seven defensive chances.

Snead State's offense was held in check, managing just three hits from Allie Graydon, Lexi Brewer, and Campbell Adams.
