Cowboys Knock off Eastern OK State in Double Overtime

Wilburton, OK- Connors State had to survuve a furious Eastern Oklahoma State College Rally on the Road Thursday Night to come away with a Double Overtime victory inside C.C. Dunlap Fieldhouse. The Cowboys up 7 at the half, came away with a 87-77 win on Thursday in Wilburton.

The Cowboys (25-3, 14-2 OCAC) lead a majority of the game and increased there lead to 15 points with about 14 minutes to play only to see Eastern come back and tie the game with about 6 minutes left in the game. Connors and Eastern OK State would go back and forth until the game went into Overtime after Connors DJ Dormu missed a Straiught on three pointer that would have won the game in regulation. Connors and Eastern would remain tied after the first over time period. Connors would come out firing in the second overtime to go up by 6 and eventually win the game by 10 on the Road in the final regular season game befire the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament next week in Muskogee, Okmlahoma. 

DJ Dormu led four Cowboys in double figures with 20 points. Edwin Daniel recorded another Double Double on the Season with 18 Points and 22 Rebounds. Ethan Dietz and Kevin Stubblefield Jr had 14 points on the night to round out the double figure scoring. Aric Walls came off the bench to score 9 pojnts on the night. Jaylen Lee and Jermiah Johnson poured in 6 points to round out the cowboys scoring on the night. 
 
The Cowboys shot 39 percent from the field, and 26 percent from the Three Point Range. Connors also shot 76 percent from the Free Throw Line on the evening.
 
The Cowboys outrebounded the Mountaineers by 15 (57-42) on the night
 
The Cowboys who are the #1 Seed in Next Weeks NJCAA Region 2 Tournament in Muskogee, Oklahoma will open the Tournament at 6:00pm against Northern Oklahoma College- Enid inside Rougher Village on the campus of Muskogee High School.
