Sharks Defeat Santa Fe
The Miami Dade Sharks put on a dominant performance against Santa Fe College, securing an 80-56 victory on the road. The Sharks set the tone early, jumping out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter and extending their advantage to 31-18 by halftime. However, it was a third-quarter explosion that sealed the game, as Miami Dade outscored Santa Fe 32-11, effectively putting the contest out of reach.
Leading the charge was Michaela Lane, who posted a game-high 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting while also grabbing 12 rebounds for a double-double. Jazmyne Bynum was a force on both ends, contributing 19 points, seven steals, and four assists, while Shameir Quimby added 16 points, seven steals, and four assists of her own. Cleaira Peterson also delivered a strong performance in the paint, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Kiara Harris chipped in with seven points, four assists, and two steals.
The Sharks' defensive intensity overwhelmed Santa Fe, forcing 20 steals and recording 10 blocks, making it difficult for the Saints to find any offensive rhythm. Miami Dade shot 39.8% from the field, while their stifling defense limited Santa Fe to just 18 first-half points. With this win, the Sharks continue to build momentum as they prepare for the postseason, looking to close out the regular season on a high note as they take on Hillsborough for Sophomore Night.
