Jayhawks Fly By Kats with Quick Start and Never Look Back

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) sophomores showed out on their night with a resounding 95-41 win over rival Erie Community College on Wednesday night.

Jamestown scored the first 11 points of the game, six of those coming from sophomore Kaleigha Plett, who finished with a season-high 25.

JCC made it 19-4 a little later as another sophomore, Jennica Berens, scored 17 and recorded a triple-double with ten points and ten assists.

The Jayhawks kept pouring it on in the second quarter; freshman Alyson Canfield, who led all scorers with 29, splashed one of her seven threes to make it 35-16.

Late buckets from Plett, Berens, and fellow sophomore Courtney Martin saw the home crowd in a frenzy as JCC entered the break up 49-20.

Another Canfield three early in the third ballooned the advantage to 31. She kept up the hot shooting in the fourth quarter, where yet another three made it a 40-point lead for JCC. A special night for the Jamestown High School product, who was shooting lights out with her former teammates in the crowd from JHS.

JCC had it in cruise control as they won by 44.

The win makes them 15-3 on the year, 3-0 in league.

The ladies hit the road next when they visit SUNY Niagara Saturday at 1:00 PM.
