Jayawks take first loss of Season
MCC Falls to Southwestern for first loss of the year
The Lady Jayhawks traveled south to Southwestern Michigan College Saturday afternoon for their sixth game of the season.
Last season the Jayhawks beat the Roadrunners at home, so leading into this game they knew it would be a revenge battle. From tipoff, the Roadrunners were applying pressure to the Lady Jays. The team fought long and hard, came back up in the second half, lowering the point difference to just six points. Coming into the fourth quarter SMC continued their pressure to ultimately beat the Jayhawks 60-47.
Leaders of the game were Anna Lundquist with 16 points, Tyvi Davis with 14 points, and Kennedy Adams with 11 points.
Head Coach Jason Cooper reflected on the tough loss after game with saying, "I want to give credit to SMC on how hard they played and they forced us into turnovers. But we didn't play our best. We will learn from this and get better."
The Jayhawks play another road game this Tuesday before Thanksgiving at Jackson College at 7:15.
