
Pratt, Kan. - On Wednesday, Feb. 19 the Pratt Community College Beavers hosted the Independence Community College Pirates and picked up their second straight conference win with a final score of 60-54.
The Pirates took an early lead, ending the first quarter with a narrow 13-11 advantage. However, the Beavers responded in the second quarter, outscoring Independence 14-12, which tied the game at halftime.
The third quarter proved pivotal for Pratt, as they surged ahead with a dominant 23-8 run. This decisive quarter gave the Beavers a significant lead, which they managed to maintain despite a late rally from Independence in the fourth quarter, where the Pirates outscored Pratt 21-12.
Pratt's victory was fueled by Kalani Brock, who led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds, achieving a double-double. La'Kyra Johnson also played a crucial role, adding 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Dana Imankulova chipped in with 10 points.
The Beavers will host the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens on Saturday, Feb.22 at 2:00 p.m.
