Northeastern Softball Earns Back-To-Back Victories Over Lamar Community College, Winning Game Two 7-5

Northeastern Softball gets back-to-back victories over Lamar Community College, winning game two 7-5. Maddie Cline was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Cline came in in relief and ended up earning the win for the Plainswomen. Cline went 3.1 innings, giving up only three hits in the contest. 

The Plainswomen opened the scoring in the top of the third inning, thanks to two doubles. Northeastern first got on the board when Mikeayla Llamas doubled, scoring two runs. Lamar jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth, making the score 5-4. Northeastern answered back and took the ultimate lead in the game in the top of the sixth inning when Isabelle Bencivenga doubled, scoring one run and Reina Roberts singled, scoring two runs.

Mackenzie Bowie started in the circle for Northeastern. Bowie went 3.2 innings, giving up 5 runs (four earned) on 7 hits, walking two and striking out one batter. Addison Steele led the Plainswomen with two hits in the contest. Roberts, Llamas and Steele each drove in two runs in the contest. Northeastern was able to turn one double play during the game.
