Jacks Complete Montana Sweep with Win Over Pioneers

The Lumberjack Women's Basketball team picked up a sweep of their Montana conference foes on the road with a 78-70 win over Miles Community College Monday night.

The first quarter started very make and forth, but over the final three minutes of the first quarter the Jacks went on a 13-7 run to take a 19-14 lead into the second quarter.  In the second quarter the two teams continued their tightly contested battle. The Jacks took a narrow 34-32 lead into the halftime break.

The Jacks were able to get their lead back to five midway through the third quarter. Then late in the quarter an 8-0 run pushed the DCB lead to 13 at 50-37. The Jacks were able to maintain their lead throughout the final quarter of play to pick up a 78-70 victory.

Amari Butler led the Jacks with 31 points and swiped 10 steals for a double-double. She currently ranks 2nd in the NJCAA in steals with 5.1 a game. She was joined in double figures by Kiara Comeaux with 22 points she as one assist shy of a double-double with 9 assists. Comeaux currently ranks 13th in the NJCAA with 5.5 assists a game.  Tyla Scorah led the Pioneers with 17 points.

The Jacks improve to 9-11 overall and 2-5 inside the Mon-Dak. The Jacks host Trinity Bible College Wednesday night in the final non-conference game of the season.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00p.m.
