A tough opening half put the Panthers lacrosse team into too big a hole to climb out of on Wednesday, as the Panthers lost 11-1 to Herkimer College. TC3 falls to 1-3 on the year; Herkimer stands at 5-1.

The first quarter was rough for the home team. TC3 turned the ball over 10 times in the first 15 minutes, helping Herkimer run out to a 7-0 lead. The Generals added four more goals in the second quarter as the Panthers continued to struggle with ball security, turning the ball over another 11 times before half. Things improved a bit in the second half, with Brayden Kitterle (Syracuse/Bishop Ludden H.S.) scoring midway through the third quarter to get the Panthers on the board. The defense played better, limiting Herkimer's chances and keeping them scoreless over the final 30 minutes.

Looking ahead

It's a short turnaround for the Panthers, who will host Mohawk Valley Community College Friday at 4:30 p.m.
