ACC's men picked up their first MCCAA win of the season on the road in Petoskey with a 59-51 victory over North Central Michigan College.
Derian Williams returned from injury to score 18 points to lead the way on 7 for 10 shooting from the field, including a perfect 2 for 2 on three-pointers. Chas Stanek scored 15 and pulled down seven rebounds. Nick Fileccia had six points and eight rebounds. Robert Williams scored nine. Xavier Blumberg scored six and contributed five rebounds and three steals.
The Lumberjack defense was stifling at times, holding the Timberwolves to 30% shooting in the first half as ACC pulled out to a 32-23 halftime lead. They led by as many as 15 before the half, at 22-7.
ACC led by 16, at 53-37 with 7:45 to go following a Derian Williams bucket. NCMC chipped away but could get no closer than eight.
