Decatur, MS-East Central Community College's Lady Warriors faced a tough challenge against the No. 9 ranked Shelton State Lady Bucs, resulting in an 82-47 loss on Thursday night in Decatur, Mississippi.

The game started with Shelton State asserting dominance, outscoring East Central 22-5 in the first quarter. Despite a stronger showing in the second quarter, the Lady Warriors struggled to close the gap, heading into halftime down 40-19.

Sophomore Mikayla Holifield led the Lady Warriors with 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, showcasing her resilience against a relentless Shelton State defense. Erica Lyons added 8 points, while Kelviana Parhm contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Shelton State's balanced attack was spearheaded by Makala Hobdy, who tallied 18 points and dished out 11 assists. Janiyah Bone added 15 points, while Arissa Jenkins chipped in 13 points off the bench. The Lady Bucs controlled the boards with 53 rebounds compared to East Central's 22, reflecting their physical dominance throughout the game.
