Pennsville, NJ. – Sophomore All-American Ella Hayes had a phenomenal double header, as the Salem Community College softball team swept Sussex County Community College 13-5 in game one and 22-0 in game two to move to 4-0 in Region 19 play.
Hayes went a perfect 10 for 10 in the double header with 3 doubles, 1 home run, 6 runs scored and 12 RBI. Hayes went the day without making an out.
Game 1
Chantelle Haskie went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI with Tiana Wilson adding another 2 RBI going 1 for 1 with a runs scored and 3 walks. Lilly Peverelle scored 3 runs on 1 hit and Bella Rappa went 1 for 3 with 2 runs score and 1 RBI. Raegan Wilson went the distance on the mound pitching 6 innings and striking out 4 while only allowing 1 earned run.
Game 2
Game two saw the Mighty Oaks jump out to an early putting up 9 runs in the first inning. The Salem offense exploded for 22 runs on 17 hits as a team. Joining Hayes (5) with multi-hits game were Bella Rappa, Callie Rozak, Tiana Wilson, Jolee Robinson and Chantelle Haskie all with 2 hits. Rappa had 3 RBI with Robinson and Wilson contributing 2 RBI.
The Mighty Oaks head south for their spring break to face off against several teams in the warm weather.
