JENSEN STAYS HOT IN NORTHEAST SWEEP SATURDAY IN MCCOOK
MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team was in McCook, Nebraska Saturday for a doubleheader against McCook Community College. The Hawks took Game 1 by a final score of 17-7 and completed the sweep of the day with a 5-2 victory in Game 2.

MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team was in McCook, Nebraska Saturday for a doubleheader against McCook Community College. The Hawks took Game 1 by a final score of 17-7 and completed the sweep of the day with a 5-2 victory in Game 2.
Northeast (8-5) was powered by Kale Jensen (Central City, Neb.) in Game 1 of the afternoon as the sophomore recorded four hits which included two home runs, a double and six RBIs. Brady Fitzpatrick (Bellevue, Neb.) joined Jensen in the home-run party as he blasted the first homer of his collegiate career in the contest.
Game 2 featured strong outings from the Hawks pitching staff as freshman Cole Kuszak (Broomfield, Colo.) picked up the win, tossing five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out nine batters. Fellow freshman Jay Coughlin (Omaha, Neb.) picked up the save, throwing two innings and allowing zero hits and zero runs.
Northeast will battle the Indians twice more tomorrow, but this time it will be in a doubleheader at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk in the Hawks' home opener beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the afternoon in McCook:
"We had a good day at the plate in Game 1," Clapp said. "Thought we were very aggressive. We left a small village on base in Game 2, but battled and found a way. We threw really well in Game 2, and that was good to see."
Clapp on his team hosting their home opener tomorrow:
"The guys are excited to get home and play," Clapp said. "We get a chance to finally play at home and defend home field!"
