Northeastern Softball Falls to Northeast Community College on the Road in Lamar

Northeastern Softball fell on the road Friday to Northeast Community College 12-3. Maddie Westmoreland was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Westmoreland went 1-3 at the plate, with one run scored and one stolen base, she also show cased a very strong defensive game.

The Plainswomen were able to get on the board in the first inning off of a wild pitch that scored one run. Mackenzie Bowie started the game for Northeastern and ended up walking away with the loss. Bowie went four inning, giving up 12 runs (three earned) on 8 hits, striking out one and walking two. 

Mikeayla Llamas, Blayke Duncan, Westmoreland and Addison Steele each collected one hit for Northeastern. Ryann Mergelman and Steele each drove in a run for the Plainswomen. As a team, Northeastern was able to steal three bases.
