Northeastern Junior College Basketball Falls to Otero Despite Late Surge

On January 25, 2025, at the Bank of Colorado Event Center, the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen faced off against Otero in a South Region IX Basketball game. Despite a valiant effort and a late surge in the game, the Plainsmen fell 54 to 72, bringing their season record to 3-19.

Bella Peterson was named the DDC Player of the Contest. Peterson led the Plainsmen with 18 points, showcasing her skills and determination. Other key contributions came from Natalie Moore, who scored 14 points, and Yaly Ben Harush, who added 9 points. 

Bronson Moton, the head coach of Northeastern Junior College, reflected on the team's performance, stating, "We made a run at the end of the game showing that we have the ability to be a great team in this region, but it was a little too late." This statement highlights the spirit and potential of the team despite the challenging season.

Looking forward, the Plainswomen will continue their season at the Bank of Colorado Event Center on January 31, where they will host McCook. The team remains hopeful to turn their fortunes around in the coming games.
