
The women's basketball team had a big weekend on the road, defeating Tompkins Cortland on Saturday and Broome in overtime on Sunday. The Lady Raiders improve to 6-2 in the Region 3 standings.
FMCC defeated TC3, 72-63 on Saturday. Quincy Lake led with 26 points and 8 rebounds. They also got a big contribution from Nataynia McLeod who finished with 19 points and Angelina Deitz with 12.
On Sunday, FM got off to a slow start against Broome. Through three quarters, they trailed 41-27. In the 4th quarter it was a different team as their full court pressure was too much for the Hornets to handle. The Lady Raiders reeled off 28, 4th quarter points to send the game into overtime at 55-55.
In overtime, FM held Broome to just 2 points and Quincy Lake hit back-to-back threes and crucial foul shots to win the game, 72-63.
Lake finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Nataynia McLeod had 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Raiders are back in action on Wednesday at home. They host Hudson Valley at 5pm in the Raiders Den.
