HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Women's Basketball Coach Matt Svehla on what worked well in the victory:
"I thought that we played a pretty solid first quarter," Svehla said. "We opened the game up. We had some flat moments in the second on both ends of the floor. They hit some 3-pointers. We had a spurt before the half that was good to see and then we got out of the gates well and outscored them 23-8 in the third quarter to open the game back up. Not the cleanest performance, but first-conference win and we're happy."
Svehla on the upcoming showdown with No. 23 DMACC:
"On the road is always hard," Svehla said. "They have beaten us the last couple of years on their floor. They are always a quality program. They will be a solid team and we will have to play well at their place."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will head out on the road and will battle No. 23 Des Moines Area Community College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Boone, Iowa.
