RAIDERS TAKE CONFERENCE SERIES OVER PELLISSIPPI
The hot start continued for the Roane State Raiders baseball squad on Monday against local rival Pellissippi State Community College.
Led by a stellar offensive performance from DH Cade Martin, the Raiders squad notched the ninth win of the season 5-3, and took the conference series against Pellisippi State.
Pellissippi State jumped to an early 1-0 lead and held on through four innings before Raiders' catcher Jonathan Larrea scored on a sac fly to right field by Martin.
Martin went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, a double, and a triple in the bottom of the 8th which gave the Raiders a two-run cushion that proved to be the difference.
The Raiders picked up two runs in the bottom of the 6th, and one each in the 7th and 8th.
Alex Sterling (1-1) threw six innings, tallied seven strikeouts and gave up one earned run. Pitchers Braden Williams and Jacob Brune combined to close out the game, with Brune awarded the win.

The Raiders (9-3) take a two-game win streak into Wednesday's matchup with Bryan College (7-7). First pitch is at noon at the Maurice K. Williams Ballpark on the Roane County Campus in Harriman.
