Sharks Win in Walkoff Fashion
The Miami Dade Sharks pulled off a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over Polk State College, rallying in the seventh inning to secure the win. The Sharks took an early lead in the second inning when Michael Petite launched a solo home run to right field, but Polk State responded in the sixth, capitalizing on defensive miscues to score three unearned runs and take a 3-1 advantage.
Down to their final at-bat, Miami Dade took advantage of wild pitches to inch closer. Cian Copeland scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to one, and moments later, Petite came home on another, tying the game at 3-3. With the winning run on third, Denixon Suarez delivered in the clutch, driving a single to left field to bring home Santiago Carriles-Alvarado and complete the dramatic comeback.
On the mound, Jordan Vargas was stellar, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six. Jack Garvey (2-2) picked up the win in relief, holding Polk State scoreless over the final two frames.
