Port Huron, MI- The Skippers Holiday Classic, hosted by St. Clair Community County Community College, took place this past weekend, and the Owls put on quite the performance.
In the 2 game set, the men won both contests, taking down Glen Oaks on Friday 95-86, and a rematch with Milwaukee Area Tech on Saturday, coming away with the 82-79 win and improving to 9-1.
Jordan Wright led the way for the Owls in scoring in Friday's matchup with 26 points along with 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 6 blocks. The team also got some extra help from the bench with Angel Kechovski dropping 24 points as well as logging 3 rebounds.
Saturday's matchup against Milwaukee Area Tech was a gritty game until the very end. At one point facing a deficit of 17 points, the Owls stormed all the way back and were able to take the lead with 6 seconds left on the clock, thanks to some clutch free throws made by Justin Latham.
Latham also contributed by dropping a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, as well as tacking on 2 blocks. Linden Holder had himself a game with a strong 18 point, 7 rebound, 5 assist, and 2 steal effort in the win, along with DJ Morrow who also added 15 points and 4 steals in the winning effort.
The Owls next game will be later this week as they host the Edison State Chargers on Thursday, December 12th at 7:30pm.
