Seahawks Stun No. 16 Montgomery

ROCKVILLE - Cecil College men's basketball sent Region 20 a message on Wednesday, taking down the No. 16 Montgomery 94-86.

As of Friday morning, the Seahawks hold the No. 2 seed in the Region 20 Division 2 Tournament. The Raptors slip down to three after the loss, while tournament host Howard grabs the top spot.

Cecil relied on free throws and points in the paint to get the job done. Jaiden Guy led the Seahawks with 32 points, 28 of which came inside the arc. The sophomore guard chipped in 10 rebounds for a double-double. Shaun Chandler and Javon Jenkins provided crucial production off the bench, combining for 33 points with a 13-19 mark from the line.

The Seahawks end the regular season with a 23-7 mark and an 11-2 R20 record.

Cecil's defense held Montgomery to just three points in the final 4 minutes of the first half. The Seahawks scored 11 straight points before a Raptors' three at the buzzer ended the run.
