Lady Tribunes Bounce Back With With Over MVCC, 77-63
UTICA, N.Y. — Monroe Community College scored a solid 77-63 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College
in a game that showcased a strong second-half performance from Monroe.* The matchup started off tightly contested, with Mohawk Valley claiming a narrow 21-19 lead after the first quarter.
Monroe fought back to level the score at halftime with a solid second quarter, ending the first half tied at 35.
In the second half, Monroe stepped up their game, particularly in the fourth quarter, outscoring Mohawk Valley 21-13 to secure the win.
They finished the game shooting an impressive 42.6% from the floor, contrasting sharply with a stifling Tribunes defense that caused Mohawk Valley's offense struggle, as they managed only 28.4% from the field.
Zarriah Eldridge led Monroe with 28 points, showcasing her scoring ability, adding another 20+ point scoring performance
Monroe's Skylah Kemp and Serenity Henderson were also crucial, contributing 18 and 21 points, respectively.
For Mohawk Valley, Nataya McGee had a standout performance, pouring in 30 points and pulling down 11 rebounds
Monroe also spread the ball well, finishing with 21 assists to Mohawk Valley's 13, illustrating their effective teamwork.
With the win the Lady Tribs picked up their ninth win of the season and their first win of the New Year
