DECATUR, Miss. – In a highly anticipated top-10 matchup, No. 2-ranked East Central Community College showcased its dominance with a convincing 9-3 victory over No. 9 Southeastern Community College on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors' offense erupted in the middle innings, while sophomore ace Bryson Goff delivered a stellar performance against a familiar foe.
Goff, who threw a complete-game masterpiece against Southeastern in the 2024 NJCAA DII World Series last spring in Enid, Oklahoma, once again silenced the Blackhawks' bats. The right-hander struck out 10 batters over six innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run to secure his second win of the season.
After a scoreless first three innings, East Central broke through in the fourth with a two-run rally, followed by a three-run fifth and a four-run explosion in the sixth to take full control. Chris Bilingsley provided the biggest spark with a three-run homer, while Jayden Adcox and Barret Rodgers chipped in key RBIs to extend the lead.
The Warriors' bullpen was just as effective, with Riley Passman and Ryan Nelson combining for three innings of one-run relief to close out the win.
