Cape Fear defeats Atlantic Cape CC 78-75
Highlights: The Cape Fear Community College Men's Basketball team had a standout weekend with victories over both CCBC Catonsville and Atlantic Cape. With their energy and cohesion on full display, the Sea Devils pushed through tough competition on the road and returned home with two hard-earned wins.
In their first matchup against CCBC Catonsville, Cape Fear delivered an all-around team performance. Head Coach Mark Lane praised his squad, saying, "Absolute total team win today! We made plays when we had to, played our tails off on the defensive end, and I couldn't be more proud of the guys. These kinds of games are hard to win, especially when you're on the road for the first game."
AuMauri Tillman led the offensive charge with an impressive 23 points, while Jefferson McLamb contributed a solid 17 points. Caleb Gilmore provided a critical boost off the bench, adding valuable depth and energy to the Sea Devils' lineup.
Against Atlantic Cape, the Sea Devils came out strong, building an early 16-point lead. However, lapses in focus saw their advantage shrink to just 4 points by halftime. They regained momentum in the second half to establish another 16-point lead, ultimately securing the win, but Coach Lane noted, "We have to learn how to play with a lead and continue to play together in those situations. We won and got it done; it wasn't the best game, but we found a way to get the win."
Jefferson McLamb led with 18 points, while Avion Pinner posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Sea Devils are looking forward to their upcoming November homestand where they will continue to build on their momentum from this past weekend.
