Haverhill, MA (December 14, 2024) – The #15 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team outscored Massasoit 51-26 in the second half of Saturday's contest to pull away for a 100-70 win, their 11th straight and improve to 13-2 on the season and 10-1 in conference play.
A pair of double-double performances from Alejandro Delgado (Haverhill) and Christian Sanders (Boston) led the way as scored 15 points and had a team high 17 rebounds, while Sanders added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sanders shot three of six from three-point range.
Javien Kirmil (Lowell) finished with a team high 19 points on seven of 11 shooting including five of eight from beyond the three-point arc.
Alex Johnson (Worcester), Ryan Pacy (Salem, NH) and Xavier Rivera (Lowell) each all scored in double digits with 13, 12 and 12 respectively.
Kirmil and Yuno Matsuda (Tokyo, JP) both had a team high five assists.
As a team the Knights shot 47.7 percent from the field.
The Knights will wrap up the first half of the season on Wednesday when they play host Kingsborough Community College at 7:30pm on the Haverhill campus.
