Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team was outlasted 58-53 by Kishwaukee on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 2-9 in its overall record.

Abigail Esparza led the team with 19 points, including five three-pointers. Valeria Costilla grabbed a season-high 20 rebounds and scored 12 points in her fourth double-double game of the year.

Elgin led 17-6 after the first quarter and 26-23 entering halftime. The women continued to extend their lead to 44-36 in the third quarter.

Two players fouled out of the game, allowing Kishwaukee to have a dominant fourth quarter and clinch the win.

The Spartans host Wilbur Wright on Saturday at 1 p.m.
