Auburn Hills, MI- A new era of Owl Basketball is set to take place as the men's team opens up their season with a trip to Petoskey, MI to participate in The Timberwolves Classic.
A new leader is at the helm for the Owls as Head Coach Gjon Djokaj is set to make his collegiate coaching debut on Friday. He inherits an Owl team who finished last in the MCCAA Eastern Conference with a 5-22 record, but is ready to make an immediate impact in the conference.
"Our program has been working hard every day to create an environment where team play leads to opportunities for us to have shared success throughout the season," says Djokaj. "We have an exciting schedule that will test us and prepare us for league play. We are prepared to have a style of play that will be enjoyable for fans to watch."
The Owls kick off the weekend on Friday against North Central Michigan at 7:30pm, and follow that up against the 8th ranked NJCAA Division II team in the country, Milwaukee Area Tech on Saturday at 1pm.
