Colts vs Vikings of Mercer County

On Saturday Jan. 25th the SUNY Orange Colts took on the Vikings of Mercer County Community College.
This game was the 20th game at the Colts have played this season and thus far have found themselves inside the Top 25 teams in NJCAA DII Men's Basketball after being ranked #25 over the last three weeks. The Colts have been on a tear up to this point averaging just over 90 points a game with a 49.5 shooting percentage while averaging 43.2 rebounds and 19.3 assists per game. The Colts have four different athletes who are averaging over 10 points per game this season, Jabari Phillip (20.5 PPG) Marquis Gill (16.4 PPG) Daniel lans (14.2 PPG) and Mat Shea (11.4 PPG) with Freshman Kassius Paulin not far behind averaging 9.3 PPG.
Securing their 17th win of the year the SUNY Orange Colts took down the Vikings of Mercer by a score of 101-91. In the first half the Colts overcame a thirteen point deficit to go into the second half with a comfortable lead. In the 2nd half the Colts outscored the Vikings by 23 points to help secure their victory.
In this victory their were six athletes who scored ten or more points Sophomores Jabari Phillip, Marquis Gill and Mathew Shea led the way for the Colts finishing with more then ten points scored and three athletes finished tied in points, Daniel Lans, Kassius Paulin and Giovanni Rupert all finished the game with 10 points.

So. Forward #22 Jabari Phillip scored the most points for the Colts finishing with 32 points. This is Jabari's fourth game this season where he finished with 30 or more points. Jabari also added 10 rebounds, one assist and three steals. With this stat-line Jabari now has recorded nine "double-doubles" and is his third time this season recording a 30 point double-double.
So. Guard #1 marquis Gill finished the game with 19 points scored shooting 6-17 from the field and 5-12 from behind the three point line. Gill also added four rebounds and 10 assists for his first double-double of the season and of his career at SUNY Orange.
So. Forward #24 Mathew Shea finished the game with 12 points on 5-10 shooting. Shea led the way in rebounds recording 13 grabbed boards and recorded one block.
The Colts will take on the Skylanders of Sussex County Community College on Tuesday January 28th for their next game.
