Cyclones take down the undefeated Owls

When the Cyclones are on, they're on. In their first matchup this season with nationally ranked Oakton College, Moraine Valley controlled the entire game, dealing the Owls their first loss of the season.

Oakton was 19-0 coming into this game, but it didn't phase the Cyclones who jumped out to an early 12-5 lead. They continued to control the first half, leading 37-30 at halftime. The third quarter saw the Owls go on a 9-0 run to take a brief one-point lead, however, the Cyclones went on their own 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter and get back in front. Moraine Valley led by at least seven points most of the game, ultimately winning 78-72.

Jadea Johnson led the offense again with 28 points and earned a double-double with 13 rebounds. Shakila Brownlow also had a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds). Lily Hernandez and Robin Stevenson each contributed nine points.
