
Cougars Defend Home Court with Strong Win Over Westmoreland
Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball picked up a much-needed 94-78 victory over Westmoreland County Community College, improving to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in Region 20 contests. This marks the Cougars' second win in a row in as many days. The Cougars never trailed in the game, building a 44-33 halftime lead before pulling away in the second half.
Cougars sophomore Randolph Johnson delivered a dominant 28-point performance, knocking down three three-pointers and dishing out six assists. Kentavious Dancy added 15 points and five rebounds, while Aiden Igwebe continued his strong play with 12 points and nine rebounds. Mike Davis chipped in 11 points in the 16-point victory for the Cougars.
FCC's depth played a key role, with Ryan Turner contributing nine points and seven rebounds off the bench. The Cougars out-rebounded Westmoreland 41-32 and moved the ball effectively, finishing with 22 assists as a team.
Frederick turns its focus to a crucial home matchup against Anne Arundel Community College on January 29 at 7:00 PM.
