In the first half, the team started slow, with the Tribunes having a difficult time finishing shots and rebounding the basketball. Monroe finished the first half with 42 points off 17 baskets and a 43.6% field goal percentage. Despite being out-rebounded 25-18, MCC was able to hold the Lakers to only 23 points and a 30.3% shooting percentage. Delroy Smith (Hillside, NJ) led the Tribunes in points (11) and assists (5) in the first half.
The second half was more of the same, with the Tribunes picking up on their momentum.
