Miami Dade Falls to Santa Fe in Road Matchup, 85-75
Despite a strong second-half effort, Miami Dade was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 85-75 to Santa Fe College on the road. The Sharks found themselves trailing 40-31 at halftime and, while they put up 44 points in the second half, Santa Fe managed to maintain control to secure the win.
Faheim Saintleger Meran led the Sharks' offense with a game-high 24 points, including three three-pointers, while also adding five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Randy Smith was efficient from deep, knocking down six three-pointers on his way to a 20-point performance. Jordan Cooke provided a boost off the bench with eight points and four assists, while Hassan Belkhaddar grabbed nine rebounds to go along with seven points.
Miami Dade struggled to find consistency from beyond the arc, shooting just 29.7% (11-of-37) from three-point range. Despite their aggressive play, which led to an 80% mark from the free-throw line, the Sharks couldn't slow down Santa Fe's offense. Turnovers also played a factor, as Miami Dade gave up 11, allowing the Saints to capitalize on key possessions.
With the regular season winding down, the Sharks will look to bounce back in their next contest as they aim to finish strong heading into postseason play.
